Eric P. Marmon
Eric P. Marmon and his partner Alixandra Marmon moved to New Castle in June of 2020 during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. They have two children, a son currently at Roaring Brook Elementary and a daughter set to join him in 2026. Eric has been a member of the New Castle Democratic Committee since September of 2021, acting as the Chair of the Subcommittee on Voter Participation. He has also been a member of the New Castle Holocaust & Human Rights Committee since June of 2023.
Born in Philadelphia and raised in the Maryland suburbs outside of Washington D.C., Eric moved to New York at the age of 18 and never left. Since 2009 he has worked in the Tech space, managing both teams and multi-million-dollar budgets with the biggest brands in their industries, including Apple, McKinsey, WalMart, Novartis, and AB InBev. Eric first entered public service through local civic organizations, both volunteering and working part-time for candidates and causes he believes in. He aims to bring his reputation as a pragmatic, solutions-oriented leader in the professional space to further the improvement and growth of New Castle.
Eric is a life-long Democrat who strong believes local politics are exactly that: local. Committed to transparency and community engagement, Eric has a vision for a thriving, inclusive New Castle. As a young parent, and knowing that over 50% of New Castle residents are either under the age of 18 or the parents of residents under 18, Eric is hoping to provide local government with a new voice for an underrepresented part of our community. Believing that true growth is only possible through collaboration, Eric will always advocate for a local government that prioritizes people over politics. When asked why he is a Democrat, Eric will respond with a quote from Robert F. Kennedy: “we who diet have a never ceasing obligation to those who starve.”
Eric graduated from Hofstra University with a B.A. in English and Creative Writing in 2009, and in 2021 during COVID earned his Master of Arts in Election & Campaign Management from Fordham University. He has also earned certificates on Public Opinion and Interest Groups from Harvard University, Leading with Effective Communication (Inclusive Leadership Training) from Catalyst, Successful Negotiation Strategies and Skills from the University of Michigan, and Agile & Scrum Fundamentals from IBM.
